  • You need rights to create users, groups, policies, API keys and a tag namespace in the tenancy.

  • Billing & Cost Management → Cloud Advisor. Without it, policy validation for optimizer-api-family can fail.

Run the Cloud Shell setup

Terraform creates the wiv-service user, WivServiceGroup, read-only policies, an API key and the WivIntegration tag namespace.

  • Terminal icon in the top-right corner. It takes about 30 seconds to initialize.

  • It detects your tenancy OCID and region, then prompts for your company name, a contact email for the wiv-service user, and the environment (Enter for prod).

  • Cloud Shell menu (⋮) → Download → wiv-credentials-[YourCompany]-prod.json.

Connect in Wiv and verify

  • In Wiv, go to Integrations → OCI and create the integration with the downloaded file.

  • It contains the private API key. Access can be revoked at any time by deleting the wiv-service user or running terraform destroy.

  • Filter by Request Principal = wiv-service. Every call Wiv makes is read-only and logged.
